Obituary

Shirley and I married in 1969 and had two children, Denise and James Jr. She worked as a supervisor in the Dietary Department of Monmouth Medical Center.

In 1977 we relocated to Washington State and our family still resides there. Shirley worked part time for the local elementary school that our children attended. In 1987 she was hired as a supervisor at a new hospital in the area. She was employed there until 2010 when we purchased a home in Sun Lakes, Arizona as a fall/winter residence. Shirley enjoyed the amenities in the new community. She kept busy with Zumba, country line dancing, the woman's social club and entertaining her new friends.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Philip and Mary Webster as well as sisters Rebecca Webster and Dorothy Gaskin. She is survived by her husband, Jim; two children, Denise and James Jr; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren and sisters Mary Jones; Irene Hundley and Marjorie Tittle.

From Les Gwyn-Williams on November 5th, 2018
LEVINSON, Woody Woody Levinson passed away September 5th at the age of 66 after a long, hard-fought battle with melanoma. He leaves behind the two great loves of his life, his wife Karen and his daughter Mara, and too many friends and family members to individually list. Woody was born in New Jersey in 1950 and enjoyed tennis, surfing and playing in rock n' roll bands on the Jersey shore. He received a BS from SMU in 1972, a Master's degree from SUNY Albany, and an MBA from SMU in 1976. He played in a rock n' roll band "The Fabulous Has-beens" during the 1980s with friends Steve Sasser, Judd Chapin, and Tom McCone. He was a great listener, caring individual, trusted financial professional and a Certified Wealth Strategist. In 2008 with his friend and business partner Bill Saplicki, they created LS Wealth Strategies LLC where they crafted individualized retirement income plans and carefully managed their client's assets. Woody was passionate about teaching retirement income planning classes to adults at local universities. In recent years, Woody enjoyed quiet nights at home with his wife Karen. Their dog, Lady, provided warmth and love. The weekends were for golf with his golf buddies, and Thanksgiving was for frying turkeys for family, friends and neighbors. Most of all, he loved music. Woody enjoyed discovering new talents and creating playlists with his beloved daughter Mara. He was a gentle giant who was loved by all for his tremendous sense of humor and tender heart toward friends and animals. He was an extraordinary husband and father. Woody was predeceased by his sister Nancy, his father George, and his mother Ruth Levinson. There will be a private memorial service on Saturday, September 10. In lieu of flowers, The Levinson family has requested donations be made to the Dr. Cowey Research Foundation for Melanoma, 12221 Merit Drive #500, Dallas, TX. 75251
